Kuwait Airways has confirmed it will resume operations from Terminal 4 at Kuwait International Airport beginning April 26, reinstating flights to 17 destinations after a temporary suspension of airspace restrictions.
The move comes after Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced the reopening of national airspace on Thursday. The closure, described as precautionary, had been in place since February 28 amid heightened regional tensions and Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait.
Acting Chief Executive Officer Abdulwahab Al-Shatti said the airline will initially operate a structured schedule across key routes. Services to London, Riyadh, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi and Manila will run three times a week, while Cairo will be served daily.
Additional routes include four weekly flights to Jeddah and Dhaka, and twice-weekly services to Beirut, Damascus and Lahore. Weekly flights will also operate to Istanbul, Guangzhou and Colombo.
Al-Shatti said the resumption from Terminal 4 reflects the airline’s focus on strengthening operational efficiency while maintaining high service standards. He added that Kuwait Airways has prepared contingency plans to ensure continuity and flexibility under varying conditions.
The airline, he noted, is prioritising passenger comfort by delivering integrated services and improved facilities at Terminal 4, aiming to provide a smooth and reliable travel experience.
Al-Shatti also acknowledged the support of Sheikh Engineer Hamoud Mubarak Hamoud Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, praising coordination efforts that helped maintain aviation services during the disruption.
