Dubai International (DXB) is bringing holiday energy to the terminal with “Magical Connections,” a seasonal programme featuring festive installations, family activities, roaming performers and interactive digital games designed to make winter journeys more memorable.
Running from December 14 to January 10, the experience spreads across the airport with holiday décor, workshops and surprise collectibles aimed at passengers travelling through DXB during the peak season.
A festive Family Zone in Concourse B
At the centre of the programme is a dedicated Family Zone in Concourse B, featuring a glowing installation, winter-themed décor, decorated trees and cosy seating. Festive huts offering complimentary gift wrapping are also part of the setup, turning layovers into a quick holiday-themed break.
AR Bauble Hunt turns Terminal 3 into a digital treasure trail
One of the headline attractions is the AR Bauble Hunt, an augmented-reality activity that transforms Terminal 3 into a phone-powered discovery game. Travellers can search for hidden digital baubles around the terminal to reveal festive messages or unlock offers from participating brands across food, retail and hospitality. Some guests may also find rare “Golden Baubles” linked to premium surprises.
Quick mini-games via QR codes and DXB Wi-Fi
DXB is also offering short, festive mini-games that passengers can access by scanning QR codes around the terminals or through the DXB Wi-Fi landing page. Options include:
- Spin the Wheel for instant-win surprises
- Slide & Solve for seasonal puzzle play
- Cosy Words for a winter-themed word challenge
These games provide another way to collect digital baubles and access partner rewards.
Hands-on crafting at the bauble-making workshop
For families and younger travellers, Terminal 3 hosts a Bauble-Making Workshop featuring craft sessions such as glitter baubles and themed ornaments like snowmen and reindeer—designed as an easy, feel-good activity and a personalised souvenir before boarding.
Roaming performers bring the “North Pole” to the concourses
During peak travel days, elves and winter characters—described as the North Pole Gang—move through the concourses in short sets, greeting passengers, posing for photos and adding a live entertainment element to the airport experience.
Complimentary gift wrapping at winter huts
Two holiday-themed winter huts offer complimentary gift wrapping on select days, alongside DIY stations and seasonal activities during peak dates—aimed at travellers picking up last-minute gifts or looking to add a festive touch before departure.
