The State of Qatar has voiced deep regret over the damage caused to its embassy building in Ukraine following the shelling that struck the capital, Kyiv, on Saturday night. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that all Qatari diplomats and embassy staff are safe and unharmed.
The Ministry reaffirmed the importance of protecting diplomatic missions, facilities of international organizations, and civilian infrastructure from the impacts of armed conflicts, stressing the need to ensure the safety of their personnel in accordance with international law and diplomatic conventions.
Reiterating Qatar’s firm and consistent position on the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, the Ministry renewed its call for resolving the conflict through dialogue and peaceful means, in line with the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. It also affirmed Qatar’s full support for all international efforts aimed at de-escalation and the restoration of stability in the region.
