Saudi Arabia’s first cruise line, AROYA Cruises, has officially expanded its operations into the Mediterranean Sea, marking a major step in the Kingdom’s push to become a global tourism hub under Vision 2030.
Operated by Cruise Saudi, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), AROYA set sail from Galataport in Istanbul on June 28, 2025, less than a year after its inaugural Red Sea voyage. The expansion introduces Saudi-inspired luxury to new destinations, reflecting the nation’s growing role in international cruise tourism.

The 19-deck vessel accommodates 3,362 passengers across 1,678 cabins and suites, featuring 12 restaurants, 17 cafés, and entertainment venues including a 1,018-seat theater, a souq-inspired shopping district, and the largest kids’ area at sea. AROYA also introduces Irth, the first Saudi restaurant at sea, developed with the Culinary Arts Commission, and offers camel milk products through a partnership with Sawani.
The Mediterranean itinerary includes Athens, Mykonos, Souda Bay, Bodrum, and Alexandria, with cruises running through mid-September. Each destination showcases a blend of heritage, leisure, and culture — aligning with AROYA’s mission to bring Saudi hospitality to global waters.

AROYA’s Khuzama accommodations offer an elevated experience with 145 suites and nine villas, including private prayer areas and women-only spa hours.
Cruise Saudi’s broader plans include developing two Red Sea private islands, expanding Al Wajh port, and boosting Jeddah’s historic tourism through partnerships with the Jeddah Historic District Program (JHDP). These initiatives aim to attract 1.3 million cruise passengers annually by 2035.

With upcoming plans to explore Northern Europe, the Caribbean, and Asia, AROYA Cruises represents a milestone in Saudi Arabia’s efforts to diversify its economy and redefine luxury tourism at sea.
