Jazan Municipality has expanded and upgraded public recreational facilities across the region, increasing the number of parks from 120 in 2022 to 268 in 2026, while playgrounds rose from 101 to 244.
The development programme has included the construction of new recreational spaces as well as the refurbishment of existing parks and playgrounds, providing residents and visitors with more opportunities for leisure and outdoor activities.
Dr. Ibrahim Al-Khayyat, official spokesperson for Jazan Municipality, said the beneficiary satisfaction index for public facilities had also recorded a significant improvement during the same period.
According to Al-Khayyat, satisfaction increased from 51% in 2022 to 96.4% in 2026. He attributed the rise to development and refurbishment projects that have improved facility standards and operational efficiency.
The initiatives are also aimed at creating more inclusive recreational environments capable of serving the needs of different segments of society, while contributing to the overall quality of life for residents and visitors.
