Gulf Air has extended its temporary flight operations via King Fahad International Airport until April 2026, as airspace restrictions in Bahrain remain in effect.
The airline confirmed that all scheduled services to and from Bahrain International Airport are still suspended due to the ongoing closure of Bahraini airspace. Regular operations will only resume once the country’s Civil Aviation Affairs authority confirms that conditions are safe.
In the meantime, Gulf Air continues to operate a temporary commercial network through Dammam, allowing passengers to travel between Bahrain and several major international destinations. These include Paris, Manila, Cairo, Casablanca, Chennai, Frankfurt, Nairobi, London, Mumbai, and Bangkok.
To support passengers affected by the disruption, the airline is offering a dedicated shuttle service between Bahrain and Dammam for those holding confirmed tickets. Gulf Air also stated it will arrange Saudi transit visas for travelers using this shuttle service as part of their journey.
However, passengers whose final destination is Saudi Arabia must independently secure the appropriate entry visa.
Flexible Travel Options
Gulf Air has introduced flexible policies for passengers impacted by the suspension. Travelers booked on flights up to March 31, 2026, are eligible for full refunds. Meanwhile, those with tickets for travel up to April 15, 2026, can rebook without additional charges for flights scheduled through June 30, 2026.
Customers who booked directly with the airline can modify their itineraries through Gulf Air’s contact center or digital platforms, including the website and mobile app. Those who booked via travel agents are advised to contact their agents for assistance.
The airline emphasized that it will continue monitoring the situation closely and provide updates as conditions evolve.
