Flydubai announced that starting November 2025, all Economy Class passengers will enjoy complimentary meals and in-flight entertainment, marking a major step in elevating the airline’s service offering.
The Dubai-based carrier said the move aims to enhance customer experience and provide greater value for travelers, aligning with its evolving business model as it continues to expand globally.
Elevating the Economy Class Experience
“Redefining the Economy Class offering across all flights represents a significant evolution in our business model,” said Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of Flydubai. “Our focus remains on investing in enhancing our customer experience and delivering added value across every touchpoint through services, technologies, and product development.”
Hamad Obaidalla, the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, added that the timing of this announcement comes as Flydubai prepares for further growth.
“By including meals and in-flight entertainment in every ticket, we’re modifying the Economy Class fare structure to ensure passengers receive more value while remaining competitive,” he said, without disclosing potential airfare adjustments.
From Budget to Full-Service Comfort
Originally launched as a low-cost carrier, Flydubai has steadily upgraded its services — introducing Business Class, opening a Business Lounge at Terminal 2, and improving its in-flight product offerings.
In-Flight Dining and Entertainment
Passengers can look forward to a multilingual entertainment platform featuring over 1,000 films, including Hollywood, Bollywood, and Arabic titles, alongside TV series from HBO Max, BBC Kids, and Cartoon Network. Travelers can also enjoy interactive games, e-magazines, podcasts, music, and real-time flight information.
On the culinary front, Flydubai will serve regional menus with local dishes inspired by African, European, Indian, Middle Eastern, Russian, and Southeast Asian cuisines, along with light snacks and beverages.
Expansion and Fleet Growth
Flydubai continues to expand its network, operating a fleet of 95 Boeing 737 aircraft and planning to receive three more by the end of 2025. The airline serves over 135 destinations and has launched a retrofit program introducing lie-flat Business Class seats and upgraded Economy Class cabins across its Boeing 737-800 fleet.
To support its growth, the airline also plans to recruit hundreds of new employees as it prepares to welcome additional aircraft in the coming years.
