Turkiye’s newest low-cost carrier, AJet, has taken a significant step in strengthening the country’s aviation manufacturing capabilities by installing fully Turkish-designed and manufactured seats on its newly delivered Boeing aircraft.
The airline, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, confirmed that its latest Boeing 737-8 MAX additions are fitted with “Miligram” seats, developed and produced domestically by TCI Aircraft Interiors. The move underscores AJet’s commitment to boosting local industry capacity and reducing foreign dependency as it expands its fleet.
Since early August, six Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft have joined AJet’s operations, each equipped with Miligram seats — a product of Turkish engineering that prioritizes comfort, efficiency, and sustainability.
The seats are certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and have successfully passed rigorous safety and performance tests, including flammability, static, and dynamic trials.
Slimmer and lighter than competing models, they enhance legroom and contribute to improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions, thanks in part to recycled carbon-fiber components.
With domestic seat production gaining momentum, AJet’s initiative supports Türkiye’s broader effort to strengthen its aviation supply chain and promote export-ready aerospace technology, while offering passengers a more comfortable travel experience.
