Emirates SkyCargo has strengthened its presence in Southeast Asia with the launch of a weekly freighter service to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, enhancing trade connectivity and offering regional customers greater flexibility to ship goods globally through Dubai.
The new service builds on the airline’s rapid network growth across East and Southeast Asia, where demand for cargo capacity continues to surge. Emirates SkyCargo now operates dedicated freighters to 43 destinations worldwide, 11 of them in the Asian region.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, emphasized the strategic importance of the region, calling markets like Thailand and Vietnam “the new heartbeat of global trade” with advanced manufacturing, rising digital economies, and strong logistics ecosystems.
In response to increasing volumes, the airline has also boosted freighter frequency to Hanoi to four weekly flights and added a sixth weekly freighter to Guangzhou to support high export flows, particularly in consumer electronics and e-commerce shipments.
Over the past three decades, Emirates SkyCargo has expanded significantly across Asia and now serves 25 gateways with 45 weekly freighter services, 13 charter flights, and 315 passenger services offering cargo capacity—amounting to 21,000 tonnes per week across the region.
