Korean Air has joined the growing list of airlines committing to Airbus’ next-generation freighter, converting seven of its A350-1000 passenger aircraft orders into A350F cargo variants as part of a major fleet renewal strategy. The move positions South Korea’s flag carrier to meet upcoming ICAO emissions standards while strengthening its role as a leading global cargo operator.

With 33 A350s now on order, Korean Air will integrate one of the industry’s most advanced long-haul freighters, featuring the largest main deck cargo door in its class and capacity for 111 tonnes of payload over 4,700 nautical miles. The A350F promises a fuel-efficient design that Airbus says can cut carbon emissions by up to 40% compared to existing freighter aircraft.
Airbus EVP Sales Benoît de Saint-Exupéry described the order as a key endorsement of the A350F’s performance and environmental advantages, highlighting the carrier’s stature as one of the world’s largest cargo operators. The aircraft will support Korean Air’s strategy to modernize its freight fleet and enhance operational efficiency across global markets.
