Jordan and Yemen have held fresh discussions aimed at strengthening air transport cooperation, as both sides look to improve coordination, support smoother air traffic, and expand collaboration in key civil aviation areas.
According to Jordan’s Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Chief Commissioner Dhaifallah Farajat met with Saleh bin Nahid, Chairman of Yemen’s General Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, at CARC headquarters to review opportunities for deeper cooperation and mechanisms that serve mutual interests.
Officials from both authorities underscored the long-standing relationship between the two institutions and stressed the importance of addressing any challenges that could affect the continuity and flow of air traffic between Jordan and Yemen.
The meeting also revisited the Air Services Agreement signed in 1975, described as a relatively liberal framework that provides operational flexibility and has supported social and economic links between the two countries over the years.
Farajat highlighted Yemenia Airways’ role in maintaining connectivity, noting the airline currently operates four weekly flights between Aden and Amman, and signaled Jordan’s support for expanding services to match rising travel demand.
Bin Nahid, meanwhile, expressed appreciation for Jordan’s technical support and facilitation, and said Yemen is keen to broaden cooperation—particularly in training, aviation safety, and the exchange of regulatory expertise.
