Ryanair ended 2025 with solid momentum, reporting 14.5 million passengers carried in December, a 7% increase year on year. The airline operated over 82,000 flights during the month, while maintaining a 92% load factor, unchanged from December 2024—highlighting steady demand during the peak winter travel season.
The December performance crowned a robust year for Europe’s largest airline. Over the rolling 12-month period to December 2025, Ryanair carried 206.5 million passengers, up 5% from 197.2 million the previous year. The rolling load factor also remained stable at 94%, reflecting disciplined capacity deployment and effective network planning.
Industry analysts note that the results are particularly notable given ongoing operational challenges across European aviation, including adverse winter weather, air traffic control constraints, and infrastructure pressure at several major airports.
Despite these headwinds, Ryanair’s consistently high load factors point to resilient consumer demand for low-cost travel and the carrier’s ability to adapt schedules and capacity efficiently.
Looking ahead to 2026, Ryanair is expected to continue focusing on network optimisation, cost control, and fleet growth as it seeks to sustain traffic expansion amid a competitive European aviation landscape.
