Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) reported a strong year of fleet and leasing activity in 2025, saying its DAE Capital unit acquired 280 aircraft, sold 112 aircraft, and signed 273 lease transactions across its owned and managed portfolios.
In its full-year business update, the aviation services group also confirmed it signed and closed the $2 billion acquisition of Nordic Aviation Capital, a move that further scales its global aircraft leasing platform.
Leasing deals and placements
DAE said 2025 activity included several notable transactions, such as:
- A long-term sale-and-leaseback agreement with United Airlines covering 10 Boeing 737-9 aircraft
- Long-term leases for 10 Boeing 737-8 aircraft with AJet
- Pricing of a $610 million two-tranche aircraft ABS transaction for a DAE-managed asset client
On the financing side, DAE said it raised $3.9 billion in debt with a weighted average maturity of 5.3 years, and tapped Islamic capital markets through a $650 million five-year sukuk issuance.
DAE Engineering also posted a busy year, reporting more than 1.8 million man-hours, over 320 aircraft checks, and services delivered to 60+ airline customers from 30+ countries. The company opened a new five-bay hangar, lifting capacity by 30%.
CEO Firoz Tarapore said DAE Capital ended 2025 with 35% fleet growth, placing the company among the top five global lessors by fleet count, while DAE Engineering maintained its position as the region’s leading independent airframe MRO provider.
