Biman Bangladesh Airlines will restart nonstop flights between Dhaka and Karachi on January 29, 2026, bringing back direct air connectivity between Bangladesh and Pakistan after more than a decade.
In the initial phase, the carrier plans to operate two weekly services—Thursdays and Saturdays—on the Dhaka–Karachi route, according to airline and local media reports.
The published schedule shows the flight departing Dhaka at 8:00 pm and arriving in Karachi at 11:00 pm, with the return leaving Karachi at 12:00 midnight and landing in Dhaka at 4:20 am (local times).
The relaunch follows approval from Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority, which cleared Biman to operate the route and use designated air corridors within Pakistani airspace.
Reporting also noted that discussions with Pakistani regulators had been underway for months, and that the route last had direct operations in 2012.
One operational question remains the flight path: the shortest routing between Dhaka and Karachi typically crosses Indian airspace, and reports said it was not immediately clear whether overflight permission has been secured.
The renewed service is expected to improve convenience for passengers and could support business travel, tourism, and family visits as bilateral engagement has shown signs of warming in recent months.
