Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to resume its direct flight services between Lahore and London starting March 30, 2026. Following its announcement of restarting services from Islamabad, PIA confirmed the launch of its Lahore to London route, marking a significant milestone for the national carrier.
The first flight, PK-757, will depart from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, heading to London’s Heathrow Airport, specifically to Terminal 4. With this addition, PIA’s weekly flight frequency to the United Kingdom will increase to seven, further enhancing connectivity between Pakistan and the UK.
This move comes after a long break in direct flights from airports north of London since 2020. Prior to the suspension, PIA operated 10 weekly flights between Pakistan and London. The resumption of these flights aligns with the airline's broader strategy to restore its international network.
In addition to the Lahore-London flights, PIA has also announced the resumption of services between Islamabad and London starting March 29, 2026, after a six-year hiatus. The airline will operate four weekly flights from Islamabad to London’s Terminal 4 at Heathrow. This is part of the carrier's efforts to rebuild its UK route network.
PIA also resumed flights to Manchester, UK, in October 2025, following the UK’s decision to remove the airline from its Air Safety List after technical audits confirmed improvements in its aviation safety standards.
This resumption of international flights follows significant changes for PIA. In a historic move, the Pakistan government recently concluded the sale of a 75% stake in PIA for Rs135 billion, marking the end of stalled privatization efforts and signaling a new phase for the state-owned carrier.
