Etihad Airways carried 22.4 million passengers in 2025, marking a 21% increase compared with 2024 and achieving the highest annual passenger total in the airline’s history. This growth was driven by sustained demand and disciplined capacity expansion across Etihad’s growing global network.
The airline’s full-year passenger load factor reached 88.3%, up two percentage points from the previous year, reflecting strong commercial performance throughout 2025.
The airline concluded the year on a particularly strong note, transporting 2.3 million passengers in December, a 28% increase compared with the same month in 2024. December’s passenger load factor reached 87.6%, maintaining robust utilization during the peak end-of-year travel period.
Etihad’s operating fleet grew to 127 aircraft by year-end, following the addition of 29 aircraft during 2025—the largest single-year fleet expansion in the airline’s history. The fleet expansion included the introduction of the Airbus A321LR, extending Etihad’s premium cabin product to a broader range of short- and medium-haul destinations and supporting ongoing network growth.
The airline’s 2025 growth accounted for approximately half of the total passenger increase reported across the UAE, underscoring Etihad’s pivotal role in supporting Abu Dhabi’s tourism and economic objectives.
Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, commented:
"2025 was a year of exceptional growth for Etihad. We welcomed over 22 million passengers—the highest annual total in our history—while continuing to enhance our service, product, and customer experience.
Ending the year with record December performance highlights the trust our customers place in Etihad. With the largest fleet in our history, Etihad is well-positioned to accommodate more visitors to Abu Dhabi and provide outstanding travel experiences across our expanding network.
These achievements reflect the dedication of our team and the confidence our customers place in our premium service. As we enter 2026, we remain focused on safety, exceptional customer service, and sustainable growth that benefits Abu Dhabi and the communities we serve."
