Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, and Air Peace, West Africa’s biggest carrier, have strengthened their partnership with the implementation of a bilateral interline agreement designed to boost connectivity between Africa, the UAE, and the United Kingdom.
The new agreement allows passengers of both airlines to travel seamlessly across select routes using a single ticket, with their baggage checked through to the final destination. The integration is expected to enhance travel flexibility, convenience, and overall passenger comfort.
Under the expanded partnership, Emirates travellers can now access additional destinations on Air Peace’s network beyond the 13 cities already served across Nigeria. The new agreement extends connectivity to Banjul in The Gambia and Dakar in Senegal via Abidjan, and to Freetown in Sierra Leone and Monrovia in Liberia via Accra. These added routes further open up West Africa to Emirates’ global schedule, enabling more passengers to experience the airline’s premium service and extensive international network.
For Air Peace, the interline deal provides access to Emirates’ hub in Dubai, connecting travellers to major destinations including London Heathrow, London Gatwick, and London Stansted. The arrangement meets the rising travel demand between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, offering customers broader options and improved global access.
Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, commented:
“Strengthening our interline partnership with Air Peace creates new ways for travellers to discover Africa and beyond, while supporting tourism, trade, and growth through Lagos. We value partnerships that enhance connectivity and contribute to the development of Nigeria’s aviation sector.”
Nowel Ngala, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Peace, added:
“This collaboration with Emirates is an important milestone in our long-term vision to enhance Africa’s connectivity to the world. By integrating our regional strengths with Emirates’ international network, we’re giving African travellers simpler, more efficient access to global destinations and a superior travel experience.”
Emirates currently serves the Dubai–Lagos route with its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering a high-end experience featuring multi-course menus inspired by regional cuisine, premium drinks, and over 6,500 entertainment channels on its award-winning ice inflight system, including a collection of Nollywood titles. As one of just two airlines offering First Class service into Nigeria, Emirates delivers exceptional comfort and luxury for premium travellers.
Air Peace, meanwhile, operates a modern fleet of over 50 aircraft — including Boeing 777s, Boeing 737s, and Embraer jets — on a growing network that spans domestic, regional, and international destinations. The airline continues to focus on strengthening intra-African travel, promoting trade and tourism, and supporting economic prosperity across the continent.
Passengers can now book itineraries covering both airlines via emirates.com, flyairpeace.com, or through authorized travel agencies.
Available Nigerian destinations on Air Peace’s network for Emirates customers include: Asaba, Abuja, Akure, Benin City, Calabar, Enugu, Ilorin, Kaduna, Kano, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Warri, and Uyo.
