Royal Jordanian Airlines has reported a significant improvement in its financial performance for 2025, according to its preliminary unaudited results released for initial disclosure. The airline achieved a net profit of JOD 21.5 million (around $30 million), including one-off capital gains, reversing a net loss of JOD 3.5 million recorded in 2024.
Chairman of the Board, Said Darwazah, praised both the Board and the management team for their relentless dedication and efforts, stating that their professionalism was key to realizing these strong results. He described 2025 as a milestone year for Royal Jordanian, marking exceptional progress in both financial and operational performance and validating the success of the airline’s transformation and growth strategy, initiated in 2021.
The airline’s operating revenues grew by 11% to reach JOD 829 million, signaling robust and sustainable growth. Passenger traffic increased by 18%, rising to 4.4 million passengers compared to 3.7 million the previous year, while the airline achieved a record aircraft load factor of 81%—the highest in its history.
Vice Chairman and CEO, Samer Majali, noted that these results reflect the early success of the airline’s transformation plan, demonstrating the effectiveness of its operational model, disciplined cost control, and revenue optimization strategies. He highlighted the marked improvement in operational and financial performance, complemented by record on-time performance, placing Royal Jordanian among the top five airlines globally in punctuality.
Majali further emphasized the airline’s role in supporting Jordan’s tourism sector, noting that it carried approximately 826,000 tourists to the Kingdom in 2025, reinforcing the airline’s contribution to positioning Jordan as a leading tourist destination in the region.
In terms of fleet modernization, Royal Jordanian introduced 19 new aircraft and retired 12 older ones, completing upgrades to nearly 70% of its fleet and establishing one of the most modern and efficient fleets in the Middle East.
These achievements came despite several challenges, including global aircraft delivery delays due to supply chain disruptions, the humanitarian and security impacts of the Gaza conflict, and broader regional instability that affected travel activity. Despite these obstacles, Royal Jordanian maintained uninterrupted operations while continuing to fulfill its national role efficiently and reliably.
