Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has inaugurated its newest Emirates World retail store in Riyadh, marking the concept’s debut in the GCC outside Dubai. The launch reflects the airline’s broader strategy to redefine its retail experience, with nine Emirates World stores now open globally.
Located in the heart of the Saudi capital, the 288-square-metre store offers an elegant, lounge-style environment where visitors can plan their journeys, receive tailored travel advice, and explore Emirates’ signature products through immersive digital experiences.
The opening was led by Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, alongside Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, Divisional Senior Vice President of International Affairs, and Adil Al Ghaith, Senior Vice President Commercial Operations, Centre.
The event was attended by H.E. Matar Salem Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, and Ali Rajab, Executive Vice President of Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), as well as trade and government representatives.
“Saudi Arabia is one of Emirates’ most important markets, and Emirates World in Riyadh reflects our deep commitment to the Kingdom,” said Kazim. “This flagship store transforms how customers engage with our brand—offering personalised service, a seamless booking experience, and bespoke travel solutions.”
The Emirates World concept merges hospitality and technology, creating an interactive retail space that reimagines the customer journey. Visitors to the Riyadh store can explore Emirates’ iconic A380 Onboard Lounge and First-Class suite through digital displays and enjoy personalised consultations on itinerary planning, ticketing, and Emirates Skywards services.
Innovative features include self-service kiosks to speed up transactions and a “selfie mirror” that allows guests to capture travel-themed photos with scenic destination backdrops.
Emirates has served the Kingdom for more than 30 years and currently operates 74 weekly flights between Dubai and four Saudi gateways—Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Medina—connecting travellers to over 150 destinations worldwide.
The airline continues to invest in the Saudi market, deploying its latest aircraft such as the Airbus A350, A380, and retrofitted Boeing 777s on select routes. Recent initiatives include the opening of a premium lounge in Jeddah and the introduction of Chauffeur-Drive Service in Riyadh—both firsts for Emirates outside the UAE.
Emirates’ ongoing collaboration with Saudi partners aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, supporting tourism, trade, and business links between Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
