Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is enhancing the passenger experience at Terminal 3 with the launch of two new services—Transit Tours and a Medical Tourism Concierge—aimed at transforming layovers into meaningful introductions to the Philippines.
The initiatives were officially launched on December 16 under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., with government officials and industry stakeholders in attendance. The programs are designed to reposition NAIA as more than a transit hub, highlighting Filipino hospitality while supporting the growth of the country’s tourism and healthcare sectors.
The Transit Tours program offers travelers with long layovers an opportunity to explore Metro Manila’s culture, heritage, and local communities through curated city experiences. Building on the popularity of hop-on, hop-off tours, the initiative allows passengers to make better use of their transit time while creating opportunities for local tour operators, transport providers, and tourism-related businesses.
Complementing this is the Medical Tourism Concierge, which caters to international visitors seeking healthcare and wellness services during their stay. The concierge service is designed to streamline coordination between travelers and accredited healthcare providers, reinforcing the Philippines’ position as an emerging destination for medical and wellness tourism known for compassionate and professional care.
To further enrich the airport experience, NAIA Terminal 3 has also opened the All-Filipino Food Hall and Mezzanine Food Hall, branded Tambayan at iba pa. Together, the two food halls feature 32 dining options, including 15 Filipino food brands in the All-Filipino Food Hall and 17 additional outlets in the Mezzanine Food Hall, offering passengers a wide range of local and regional flavors.
Officials say these initiatives are part of a broader strategy to modernize NAIA and align it with international service standards, while creating jobs, supporting local businesses, and strengthening Manila’s role as a key gateway city in Southeast Asia.
By integrating cultural exploration, healthcare support, and local cuisine into the airport journey, NAIA aims to deliver a more people-centered travel experience—ensuring that every arrival, layover, and departure leaves visitors with a positive and lasting impression of the Philippines.
