King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah has reached a historic milestone, welcoming 53.4 million passengers in 2025 — the highest annual figure ever recorded at a Saudi airport since the Kingdom’s first flights, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
This achievement cements KAIA’s standing among the world’s leading airports in passenger volume and underscores its strategic role as a global gateway connecting Saudi Arabia with destinations across the world.
Operational data revealed that the airport handled 310,000 flights and 60.4 million bags over the year, representing a 12 percent increase compared to 2024. Additionally, it processed 9.57 million Zamzam water containers and managed 2,968 cargo flights, reflecting its expanding capacity and operational excellence across multiple service areas.
Mazen Johar, CEO of Jeddah Airports Company, described the record as a defining moment in KAIA’s growth journey. “Reaching 53.4 million passengers demonstrates the airport’s high operational readiness and marks a vital step toward our next phase of expansion to accommodate even greater volumes in the near future, God willing,” he stated.
Johar attributed the accomplishment to the guidance of the Kingdom’s leadership and the continuous support of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and the Airports Holding Company.
He also expressed appreciation for the combined efforts of various government agencies and private sector partners, whose collaboration, he said, was instrumental in delivering world-class services to travelers.
He emphasized that King Abdulaziz International Airport continues to strengthen its position as a premier aviation hub in the region through infrastructure expansions, capacity growth, and enhanced passenger experiences.
These efforts, Johar added, align closely with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify the national economy, promote tourism, and elevate the Kingdom’s standing as a global transportation hub.
