In the heart of Jazan, a vibrant crafts market is bringing the region’s rich heritage to life. The interactive pavilion, part of the Year of Handicrafts initiative, invites visitors to explore traditional customs, crafts, and cuisine that have shaped community life for generations, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Organized by the Alrowad Youth Association and the Cultural House, the market blends storytelling, education, and entertainment. It offers a village-like atmosphere where guests can rediscover old games, folk traditions, and traditional women’s adornments — all central to Jazan’s cultural identity.

Beyond preserving heritage, the initiative provides a valuable platform for local artisans to showcase their skills and boost the local economy. Craftspeople demonstrate pottery, weaving, and jewelry-making, sharing techniques passed down through families.

Every Friday and Saturday, visitors can take part in workshops covering pottery, sculpture, painting, palm frond weaving, candle and perfume making, leather arts, Arabic calligraphy, embroidery, seashell crafts, and even modern branding and packaging.

By combining learning with enjoyment, the Jazan crafts market is more than an exhibition — it’s a living classroom where culture, creativity, and community meet.
