Qatar Airways and Kenya Airways have deepened their strategic partnership with the launch of a new codeshare agreement covering 19 destinations, marking a major expansion of connectivity between Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. The new flights will be available for booking from October 21, with travel commencing on October 26.
Under the expanded agreement, Kenya Airways passengers can now book codeshare flights between Nairobi and Doha, and onward to 10 destinations across Asia and the Middle East via Hamad International Airport—named the “Best Airport in the Middle East” for 11 consecutive years.
Qatar Airways travelers, meanwhile, will gain access to eight destinations in Kenya Airways’ African network through the carrier’s three daily services between Doha and Nairobi.
Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori hailed the development as “a testament to the strong collaboration between both airlines,” noting that the addition of a third daily flight to Nairobi reflects growing demand for reliable and seamless regional connectivity.
Kenya Airways Chief Commercial and Customer Officer Julius Thairu added that the partnership “will significantly enhance connectivity across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia,” opening new opportunities for travelers and strengthening both carriers’ global reach.
The codeshare agreement will enable passengers to access key business and leisure hubs such as Lilongwe, Livingstone, Juba, and Victoria Falls through Kenya Airways, and destinations including Singapore, Malé, Tokyo Narita, and Colombo through Qatar Airways.
Members of Qatar Airways Privilege Club will also earn Avios on codeshare flights operated by Kenya Airways.
Both airlines plan to expand cooperation further in areas such as cargo, aircraft maintenance, airport operations, lounges, and sustainability initiatives.
