Air Arabia has announced a major addition to its route network with the launch of non-stop flights between Sharjah and London Gatwick, marking a significant expansion into one of the world’s busiest international markets. The new service, beginning 29 March 2026, will operate double daily, offering greater flexibility for passengers travelling between the UAE and the United Kingdom.
The airline said the route reflects its continued commitment to providing affordable, value-driven air travel while supporting growing demand for travel and trade between the two countries. The expansion also strengthens Air Arabia’s global footprint from its Sharjah International Airport hub.
Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, described the launch as an important milestone in the carrier’s growth strategy. “The introduction of our new service to London Gatwick marks a significant moment in Air Arabia’s journey. It reinforces our commitment to offering customers more choice, better connectivity, and an affordable travel experience,” he said.
He added that the new route caters to both business and leisure travellers, enhancing direct access between the UAE and the UK while boosting connectivity across Air Arabia’s wider network.
Jonathan Pollard, Chief Commercial Officer at London Gatwick, welcomed the airline’s entry to the airport, noting rising demand for Middle East destinations. “Passenger interest in the region has grown significantly this year. With the recent government approval for routine use of our Northern Runway, this is an exciting time to welcome Air Arabia to London Gatwick and expand travel options for passengers across London and the South East,” he said.
The new service positions Air Arabia strongly in a competitive transcontinental market, reinforcing its strategy to expand long-haul, value-focused operations.
