Cirium’s 2025 On-Time Performance Review has ranked the world’s most punctual airlines and airports, with Aeromexico taking the top global airline spot for a second straight year and Qatar Airways securing the Platinum Award for operational excellence across its worldwide network.
Aeromexico posted a 90.02% on-time performance across 188,859 flights, ahead of Saudia (86.53%) and SAS (86.09%). Cirium noted that only one other airline has managed back-to-back global wins since the annual review began in 2009.
Qatar Airways received the Platinum Award after delivering consistent results across more than 198,000 flights spanning six continents, underlining the challenge of maintaining reliability at scale.
Among major movers, Virgin Atlantic was named Most Improved, after lifting its on-time performance from 74.02% in 2024 to 83.45% in 2025—a gain of 9.44 percentage points.

North America: Delta Air Lines topped the region for the fifth straight year (80.90%)
Europe: Iberia Express led with 88.94%
Latin America: Copa Airlines extended its streak to 11 wins (90.75%)

Platinum (airport): Istanbul Airport, recognized for operational complexity and disruption management
Cirium defines an “on-time” flight as one that arrives within 14 minutes and 59 seconds of the scheduled gate arrival time,
using data drawn from hundreds of sources across the aviation ecosystem.
