Qatar Airways has been awarded the Airline Platinum Award for exceptional operational performance in 2025, according to Cirium’s latest On-Time Performance Review, which recognizes the world’s most reliable carriers.
The annual analysis from the aviation analytics firm placed the Doha-based airline at the top for its punctuality and efficiency across its global network. Qatar Airways achieved an 84.42% on-time arrival rate out of more than 198,300 flights operating across six continents — an improvement from 82.83% the previous year.
Cirium’s report highlighted the airline’s ability to maintain schedule integrity despite significant operational challenges throughout 2025, including airspace restrictions linked to geopolitical tensions, adverse weather events, and aircraft availability constraints. The carrier’s use of data-driven strategies to adjust schedules and reroute flights was credited as a key factor behind its performance.
“Qatar Airways’ Platinum Award is particularly notable because it illustrates how a global network airline can sustain high on-time performance levels while managing one of the industry’s most complex hub operations,” said Jeremy Bowen, CEO of Cirium. “Delivering reliability on this scale requires advanced planning, coordination, and rapid recovery capabilities—hallmarks of the sector’s top performers,” he added.
The recognition marks another milestone for Qatar Airways, which was also named World’s Best Airline in 2025 by aviation rating agency Skytrax. The carrier serves over 170 destinations worldwide with a fleet of 304 aircraft.
Meanwhile, Hamad International Airport (DOH)—Qatar Airways’ primary hub—secured ninth place in Cirium’s Top 10 Large Airports list, recording 84.70% on-time departures from a total of 251,864 flights handled in 2025.
Cirium’s On-Time Performance Review draws on flight data from more than 600 real-time sources, including airlines, airports, global distribution systems, and civil aviation authorities. The analysis is further validated by an independent advisory board of seasoned aviation experts.
