Etihad Airways and Tunisair have signed a new codeshare agreement aimed at enhancing air connectivity between North Africa and Abu Dhabi, while supporting the increasing demand for travel, tourism, and business between the two regions.
Effective immediately, travelers can book flights between Abu Dhabi and Tunis under either airline’s code on Etihad-operated services. The partnership offers a seamless travel experience with a single ticket, unified check-in, and baggage transfer through to the final destination.
The codeshare arrangement covers Etihad’s three weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and Tunis, launched on 1 November 2025. Operated using Etihad’s Airbus A321LR aircraft, the service features the airline’s signature hospitality across three cabins—two luxurious First Suites, 14 Business Class seats, and 144 in Economy.
Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, said the collaboration reinforces Etihad’s commitment to deepening its presence in North Africa.
“Partnering with Tunisair brings Abu Dhabi closer to travelers across the region,” Neves said. “We are seeing strong demand for Abu Dhabi as a destination for trade, business, tourism, and family connections. This codeshare provides Tunisair customers with greater access to our world-class service and makes Abu Dhabi an even more accessible gateway to our global network.”
Halima Ibrahim Khouaja, Chief Executive Officer of Tunisair, emphasized the significance of the partnership in expanding the airline’s regional reach.
“This collaboration opens new travel opportunities by linking the Maghreb and Africa more closely with the Gulf region,” Khouaja said.
“Abu Dhabi is a strategic market for Tunisair, and our cooperation with Etihad broadens the range of connections available to passengers across our network. It strengthens the air bridge between our regions and highlights Tunisair’s role as a key driver of regional connectivity.”
With more than 75 years of experience, Tunisair has long been a leading carrier in North Africa, offering extensive connections across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America. Etihad Airways, meanwhile, maintains over 40 codeshare partnerships worldwide, giving travelers access to more than 500 destinations across its global network.
