Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s newest national airline, has partnered with Mastercard to reimagine how travelers and businesses engage with payments and travel services. The collaboration aims to create a seamless, reward-driven ecosystem that integrates consumer payments, premium airport experiences, and advanced B2B travel solutions, placing Saudi Arabia at the forefront of global travel innovation.
As a new airline without legacy systems, Riyadh Air is uniquely positioned to build a comprehensive financial and payment ecosystem from the ground up. As part of the partnership, Riyadh Air-branded Mastercard credit and prepaid cards will be introduced, allowing everyday spending to be converted into flights, upgrades, lifestyle rewards, and exclusive experiences.
The digital-first cards, expected to launch in late 2026, will be fully integrated with the Riyadh Air mobile app, enabling customers to apply, manage, and track rewards in a single platform.
“This partnership reflects Mastercard’s commitment to creating smart, secure, and seamless payment solutions,” said Dr. Dimitrios Dosis, President, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa, Mastercard. “Together with Riyadh Air, we are building a fully digital ecosystem that adds value at every step—for travelers, agents, airlines, and hospitality partners—while reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s growing role in global travel.”
Adam Boukadida, CFO of Riyadh Air, noted that the collaboration demonstrates the airline’s digital-first approach and confidence in its future. “We can implement multiple solutions simultaneously—from integrated payments and rewards to premium airport services and virtual payment innovations—providing a truly distinctive travel experience,” he said.
Riyadh Air is also pioneering the world’s first airline-branded virtual card program for travel trade settlements. The solution enhances efficiency, security, and reconciliation for travel intermediaries, while creating new opportunities across the travel value chain.
To support innovation, Riyadh Air and Mastercard will establish a joint center of excellence to design, test, and scale new solutions, share data insights, and train future talent—enabling them to respond rapidly to market trends and customer needs.
With growing tourism, business travel, and infrastructure development, Saudi Arabia is emerging as a major global travel hub. This partnership strengthens the Kingdom’s position by modernizing financial flows, improving the end-to-end travel experience, and supporting economic growth. Mastercard’s Travel Trends Report 2025 highlights Riyadh as a rapidly expanding passenger market, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s rising appeal to both business and leisure travelers.
