Emirates has launched 2026 with its busiest January for family travel bookings, reinforcing its position as the airline of choice for families. In 2025, 84% of all bookings were for Economy Class, with family and group travel accounting for 64% of passengers in the cabin.
January remains a peak period for planning holidays, with over 65% of group bookings made at least three months in advance and more than 65% of family bookings confirmed at least two months ahead.
Popular destinations for groups included Dubai, Jeddah, Medina, Istanbul, and Rome, while families most often booked trips to Dubai, Bangkok, Jeddah, Malé, and Mauritius. Aligned with the UAE’s “Year of the Family,” Emirates observes that bookings mirror school holiday schedules, with spring and summer trips largely booked in January.
Emirates operates one of the world’s largest long-haul networks, offering Economy Class passengers modern, long-haul comfort. Families benefit from wide cabins, ergonomic seats with adjustable headrests, generous legroom, personal entertainment screens, and mood lighting.
Recent retrofits across the fleet have refreshed interiors and seating, while families enjoy priority boarding, seating together, bassinets for infants under two, and the option to bring approved car seats onboard.
The airline’s hub-and-spoke network reduces journey complexity and ensures consistent onboard products. Handling nearly three million bags monthly from Dubai with a 99.9% success rate, Emirates ranks among the most reliable airlines for baggage.
Cabin crew from over 140 nationalities provide structured, attentive service tailored for families, unaccompanied minors, and passengers with special needs. Economy passengers receive complimentary meals and beverages, children’s meals, comfort kits, toys, and baby amenities, while strollers and dedicated lounges are available for young travellers at Dubai Airport.
Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system offers over 6,500 channels, including movies, TV, games, music, and children’s content, while new Starlink Wi-Fi delivers fast, reliable connectivity for streaming, work, and online gaming.
Economy passengers can also join Emirates Skywards to earn Miles, access rewards, and benefit from family accounts through the Skywards Skysurfers programme for children aged 2–17.
Emirates continues to set the standard in Economy Class by combining comfort, convenience, and world-class service, ensuring a seamless and memorable journey for families.
