British Airways is expanding its popular Avios-Only flight programme with new routes from London City Airport to Madrid and Toulon Saint-Tropez, celebrating a landmark 50th service since the initiative launched. On these special flights, every seat is reserved exclusively for members booking with Avios points.
Starting 12 February 2026, travellers who are part of The British Airways Club can secure their seats, with one-way fares starting from £2 plus 21,500 Avios for Toulon and £2 plus 28,000 Avios for Madrid. Both options include a 23kg checked baggage allowance.
The airline is highlighting the two destinations as perfect summer getaways. Madrid, with its electric arts scene and lively culture, offers a great city break over the late May bank holiday. Meanwhile, Toulon—a new addition to British Airways’ network—provides direct access to the stylish French Riviera and the glamour of nearby Saint-Tropez.
All flights will operate to and from London City Airport, a convenient base for travellers departing from the heart of the capital.
Since introducing Avios-Only flights in 2023, British Airways has operated 48 services to 16 destinations across Europe, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East. These include customer favourites such as Cape Town, Barbados, Sharm El Sheikh, Málaga, and Marrakesh. The upcoming Madrid return flight will officially bring the airline’s total of dedicated Avios-Only flights to 50.
Colm Lacy, Chief Commercial Officer at British Airways, said:
“We’re thrilled to introduce these new Avios-Only flights to two of our most in-demand leisure destinations for summer. These services have proven incredibly popular, and we’re delighted to offer loyal customers even more chances to make the most of their British Airways membership.”
Adam Daniels, CEO of IAG Loyalty, added:
“It’s fantastic to begin the year by launching new Avios-Only routes from London City to exciting destinations like Toulon and Madrid. With every seat bookable using Avios, this initiative underlines the strength of our loyalty programme and gives members even more ways to redeem their points during peak holiday season.”
Members who hold a British Airways American Express Credit Card can also use their Companion Vouchers when booking, allowing them to bring a guest for no additional Avios—just taxes and fees.
In addition to these Avios-Only flights, British Airways continues to offer Reward Seats at fixed Avios rates across its global network. The airline guarantees a minimum of 12 Reward Seats on short-haul flights and 14 on long-haul services departing from Heathrow and Gatwick.
From London City, customers can count on four guaranteed Reward Seats per flight—two in Club Europe and two in Euro Traveller. On Avios-Only services, however, every seat in all cabins can be redeemed using Avios through ba.com.
