Turkish Airlines has reached a major milestone with the introduction of its 500th aircraft, “TK Family.” The aircraft features a special livery made up of photographs of 100,000 employees and retirees, representing the unity and dedication behind the flag carrier’s success.
The unveiling at Istanbul Airport was attended by Turkish Airlines executives, former leaders, employees, retirees, and key aviation figures. Children of national martyrs from all 81 provinces of Türkiye and the cast of the Iğdır (When You Dream) commercial also joined the celebration, highlighting the airline’s strong sense of community.
Chairman Prof. Ahmet Bolat said the milestone reflects 93 years of determination and shared vision:
“Our 500th aircraft is not just another addition—it symbolizes our journey and our future. What once seemed a dream is now reality, and we now look ahead to our next goal: a fleet of 1,000 aircraft by 2036.”
A ceremonial TK500 flight traced the number “500” in the sky with families of fallen heroes, executives, and staff on board.
Aircraft commemorating past fleet milestones were also displayed:
100th in 2006, 200th in 2012, 300th in 2016, 400th in 2023, and now the 500th in 2025. A replica of Turkish Airlines’ first aircraft drew strong interest from attendees.
Continuing to invest in modern, efficient aircraft, Turkish Airlines reaffirms its commitment to sustainable growth and global leadership, guided by the principle of “growing together, rising together.”
