Bahrain's national carrier, Gulf Air, has announced a strategic expansion of its flight services from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, continuing its operations despite the ongoing closure of Bahrain's airspace.
In a recent move, Gulf Air commenced emergency operations from Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport, utilizing the Saudi airport for key international flights. The airline's first flight under this arrangement departed for Karachi, Pakistan, on Monday.
On Tuesday, Gulf Air confirmed the launch of three additional round-trip routes from Dammam to major global destinations:
-
Dammam to London Heathrow (UK) and return
-
Dammam to Mumbai (India) and return
-
Dammam to Bangkok (Thailand) and return
These new routes are designed to provide continued connectivity and support to travelers, helping to mitigate the effects of Bahrain's airspace restrictions. The airline is expected to further enhance its operations as the situation evolves.
