Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) received a total of 2,155 passenger complaints involving the country's national airlines during May, according to its latest monthly performance index.
Among the carriers, Saudia recorded the strongest performance, registering 43 complaints per 100,000 passengers, the lowest complaint rate in the sector. The airline also resolved 81% of the cases submitted by passengers.
Low-cost carrier flynas ranked second, reporting 58 complaints per 100,000 passengers while achieving a 100% complaint resolution rate. flyadeal followed with 90 complaints per 100,000 passengers, successfully resolving 99% of customer complaints.
The report identified flight-related issues as the leading cause of passenger complaints during the month. Ticketing services ranked second, followed by complaints associated with baggage handling.
GACA also assessed airport performance across different categories. Among airports handling more than six million passengers annually, King Khalid International Airport delivered the strongest results, recording 13 complaints, equivalent to one complaint per 100,000 passengers, while resolving every reported case.
In the category of smaller international airports, Prince Naif International Airport received just one complaint, with full resolution achieved. King Saud Airport posted similar results in the domestic airport category, registering one complaint, which was also resolved completely.
The monthly index is part of GACA's ongoing efforts to monitor service quality, improve passenger experience, and encourage higher operational standards across Saudi Arabia's aviation sector.
