The service began on September 3, adding Mogadishu to SalamAir’s growing African network. The new route is expected to facilitate business travel, family visits and commercial ties while creating an additional travel corridor between Oman and East Africa.
Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital and principal commercial centre, is expected to benefit from improved connectivity with Oman through the new service.
Steven Allen, Chief Commercial Officer of SalamAir, said the route represents a strategic expansion of the airline’s presence in East Africa and responds to rising demand for affordable air connectivity.
He said the service would support business and trade between Oman and Somalia while giving passengers convenient onward connections through Muscat to destinations across SalamAir’s network.
Allen also linked the new route to Oman Vision 2040, saying stronger international air connectivity would contribute to the country’s economic diversification efforts.
