Turkish Airlines and Air China have expanded their codeshare partnership, opening up additional connections between Türkiye, China and destinations across their wider international networks.
The expanded agreement was signed at the 4th China Air Transport Association (CATA) Aviation Conference & Exhibition in Beijing. It builds on a freesale codeshare arrangement launched in June 2024 covering flights between Istanbul and Beijing.
Under the latest agreement, the codeshare network will cover all direct trunk routes between Türkiye and China, along with selected domestic flights beyond Beijing and international services connecting through Istanbul.
Turkish Airlines passengers will gain access to several additional destinations in mainland China, including Shenzhen, Chongqing, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Qingdao.
Air China passengers, meanwhile, will be able to connect through Istanbul to Ankara and a range of destinations in Africa, including Accra, Lagos, Marrakesh, Dar es Salaam, Algiers and Tunis. The expanded network will also provide access to Latin American destinations such as Cancun and Mexico City.
Both carriers are members of Star Alliance and said the broader partnership will offer passengers more travel options and smoother connections. Customers will be able to access services across the two airlines’ networks through a single ticket.
Turkish Airlines and Air China also plan to include newly launched direct routes between Türkiye and China in the codeshare arrangement, further supporting travel, tourism and business ties between the two countries.
