Jazeera Airways has highlighted the growing importance of its UAE network following a meeting with H.E. Dr. Matar Hamed Al Neyadi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the State of Kuwait, at the airline’s headquarters.
Discussions focused on the longstanding relationship between the UAE and Kuwait and the role of direct air connectivity in supporting tourism, business, trade and people-to-people links between the two countries.
Over the past year, Jazeera Airways has expanded its UAE network from one destination to three, adding Abu Dhabi and Al Ain to its existing Dubai services. The airline has also increased frequencies in response to rising passenger demand.
Jazeera Airways now operates 37 weekly flights between Kuwait and the UAE, comprising 23 weekly services to Dubai, 11 to Abu Dhabi and three to Al Ain.
Since launching its current services to Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, the airline has carried more than 60,000 passengers on the two routes, indicating growing demand for direct connections beyond Dubai.
The airline also maintained connectivity with the UAE during the major regional disruption earlier this year. After Kuwait International Airport closed on February 28, Jazeera Airways launched Mission Barakah and continued operations through an alternative model via Saudi Arabia.
Barathan Pasupathi, Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways, said the UAE remains an important regional market and a key part of the airline’s growth strategy.
He said the carrier had tripled its UAE network over the past year and continued adding flights as demand increased, while the airline’s 37 weekly services were providing greater choice for passengers and supporting travel, trade and tourism between Kuwait and the UAE.
H.E. Dr. Matar Hamed Al Neyadi said the relationship between the UAE and Kuwait was supported by longstanding historical, economic and social ties. He highlighted air connectivity as an important element in strengthening tourism, business and broader cooperation between the two countries.
The ambassador welcomed Jazeera Airways’ expansion to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, saying increased connectivity and greater travel options could further support relations between the two countries.
Jazeera Airways has served the UAE market for more than two decades. The airline launched direct Kuwait-Dubai services in October 2005 and has continued to develop its UAE network as part of its wider short-haul connectivity across the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
