Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific has announced plans to resume passenger flights to the Middle East from September 1, marking the return of services that had been suspended earlier this year due to regional security concerns.
According to a statement issued by the airline on Thursday, daily passenger flights to Dubai and four weekly passenger flights to Riyadh will restart on September 1. Tickets for both routes are now available for booking.
The airline said it will continue monitoring developments in the Middle East ahead of the planned resumption of services to ensure operational safety.
In addition to passenger operations, Cathay Cargo is scheduled to restart its freighter flights to Riyadh from August 1.
Cathay Pacific's decision comes as several international airlines gradually restore services across parts of the Middle East, supported by diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions following the conflict triggered by U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.
The Cathay Group had suspended all of its Middle East operations in late February after the joint U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran, citing the evolving security situation in the region.
