Emirates has announced plans to introduce its flagship Airbus A380 aircraft on the Dubai–Delhi route from October 25, making the Indian capital the airline’s third destination in the country to be served by the double-decker jet.
The four-class A380 operation will operate alongside Emirates’ upgraded Boeing 777 services, ensuring that Premium Economy is available on all daily flights between Dubai and Delhi.
The move forms part of the airline’s broader strategy to expand its Premium Economy product across India. Travellers flying from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Kochi will have access to the enhanced cabin class, which features wider leather seats, upgraded dining options and a range of premium onboard amenities.
In a further boost to its Indian network, Emirates confirmed that Kolkata will begin receiving Airbus A350 services from October.
Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, said the airline’s continued investment in India reflects its long-standing commitment to the market and growing passenger demand.
He noted that Delhi is a key destination within the carrier’s global network and said the introduction of A380 services would strengthen connectivity while offering customers access to Emirates’ latest onboard products. Delhi will join Mumbai and Bengaluru as the airline’s third Indian destination served by the A380.
Kazim also highlighted the expansion of Premium Economy across six Indian gateways, bringing the product to nearly half of Emirates’ scheduled weekly services to and from India. He added that further service enhancements are planned as the airline continues to strengthen its partnership with the country and improve the customer experience.
