Qatar Tourism has announced a temporary initiative to support international visitors who remain stranded in the country due to recent regional travel disruptions and flight cancellations.
The program allows eligible tourists to extend their hotel stays at no additional cost while waiting for normal flight operations to resume.

The measure was introduced following widespread flight suspensions and airspace restrictions across parts of the Middle East, which left many travelers unable to depart Qatar as originally planned.
Support for Visitors Affected by Flight Disruptions
Under the initiative, Qatar Tourism is working with licensed hotels across the country to facilitate extended accommodation for visitors whose travel plans have been affected. The support program ensures that eligible guests can continue staying in their current hotel rooms without interruption.

In addition to accommodation, the initiative also includes daily meals to assist travelers during their extended stay.
Who Is Eligible
According to Qatar Tourism, visitors may qualify for the hotel extension if they meet the following conditions:
-
The traveler must be staying at a licensed hotel in Qatar.
-
The hotel check-in must have taken place on or before February 28, 2026.
-
The traveler must have had a confirmed outbound flight scheduled between February 28 and March 3, 2026 that was canceled or disrupted.
-
The visit must be for tourism purposes or participation in business events.
Visitors staying in private accommodations or short-term rental apartments are not included in the program.
What the Program Covers
Eligible travelers will receive:
-
Extension of their hotel stay in the same room category
-
Three daily meals including breakfast, lunch, and dinner
However, additional hotel services such as room service, personal purchases, and other extra charges will not be covered and must be paid by the guest.

Visa Extension for Stranded Travelers
Authorities have also confirmed that entry visas expiring from February 28, 2026 onward will be automatically extended for one month. This measure ensures that stranded visitors do not face penalties for overstaying while waiting for their departure flights.
Visitor Assistance Hotline
To assist travelers during the ongoing situation, Qatar Tourism has confirmed that its visitor support hotline (106) remains fully operational. Visitors requiring assistance or information about the hotel extension program can contact the hotline or speak directly with their hotel reception.

Officials say the initiative reflects Qatar’s commitment to supporting tourists and ensuring their comfort and safety during the current regional travel disruptions.
