Doha, 8 March 2026 — Qatar Airways has announced that its scheduled flight operations remain temporarily suspended due to the ongoing closure of Qatari airspace. The airline confirmed it will resume full operations only after the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) declares the airspace safe and fully reopened. A further operational update is expected on 9 March 2026.
Following temporary authorisation from the QCAA for a limited operating corridor, Qatar Airways plans to operate select inbound flights to Hamad International Airport on 9 March from Amsterdam (AMS), Berlin (BER), Frankfurt (FRA), London (LHR), Zurich (ZRH), and Muscat (MCT). These flights are restricted to passengers whose final destination is Doha, and bookings can be made through the airline’s website, mobile app, or authorised travel agents.
The airline emphasised that these limited flights do not signal a full resumption of scheduled commercial services. Passengers have been advised not to travel to airports without a confirmed ticket.
On 8 March, Qatar Airways operated repatriation flights departing Doha to Amsterdam, Berlin, Frankfurt, London, and Zurich. Priority was given to stranded travellers, including families, elderly passengers, and individuals with urgent medical or compassionate needs. The airline stated that affected passengers were pre-allocated seats directly by Qatar Airways.
Qatar Airways reiterated that passenger and crew safety remains its top priority, apologising for disruptions caused by circumstances beyond its control and thanking travellers for their patience.
