Oman Air has unveiled its first new route for 2026, announcing direct flights to Taif in Saudi Arabia as part of its growing regional network.
Starting 31 January 2026, the carrier will introduce scheduled services to Taif, marking Oman Air’s fifth destination in Saudi Arabia and further strengthening air connectivity between the two Gulf neighbours.
The route will be operated three times a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays—using a Boeing 737. The schedule is designed to offer convenient timings for both leisure and business travellers, complemented by Oman Air’s signature onboard service and hospitality.
Commenting on the launch, Con Korfiatis, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air, said the move was a strategic milestone in the airline’s regional expansion:
Expanding into Taif represents a strategic step in our regional network growth and reinforces the strong economic and cultural ties between Oman and Saudi Arabia. It likewise enables us to better serve our guests by providing them with more choice and convenience.
From the Saudi side, Abdulkarim al Darwish, President of Middle East and Africa Markets at the Saudi Tourism Authority, welcomed the new connection, highlighting its role in supporting the Kingdom’s tourism ambitions:
We welcome Oman Air’s new service to Taif, which marks a key step that enhances connectivity between our two countries and provides travelers from Oman with greater access to key destinations across Saudi. Expanding regional air links aligns with our broader mission to accelerate tourism growth and strengthen strategic partnerships.
The new Taif service is expected to appeal to pilgrims, holidaymakers and business travellers alike, as Saudi Arabia continues to position itself as a leading tourism and aviation hub in the region.
