Air Arabia is expanding its international network with the launch of a new non-stop service connecting Sharjah to London Gatwick, strengthening the UAE’s aviation links with one of the world’s busiest travel hubs. The Sharjah-based low-cost carrier announced that the new route will begin operations on March 29, 2026.
The service will operate twice daily, offering travellers increased flexibility and more affordable travel options between the UAE and the United Kingdom. The launch marks a major milestone in Air Arabia’s global expansion strategy as it continues to broaden its reach from Sharjah International Airport.
Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, said the new route underscores the airline’s commitment to enhancing connectivity across key international markets. This expansion reflects our dedication to offering greater reach and convenience, while maintaining the value-driven travel experience Air Arabia is known for, he said.
He added that the London Gatwick service supports both leisure and business travel demand and reinforces Sharjah’s position as a growing regional aviation hub. London Gatwick also welcomed the announcement. Jonathan Pollard, Chief Commercial Officer, noted the surging demand for Middle East routes and highlighted the strategic timing as the airport prepares for expanded operations following the government’s approval of routine Northern Runway use.
We look forward to welcoming Air Arabia in March and offering travellers more access to Sharjah and the wider Middle Eastern region,” he said. The route is expected to boost tourism, business travel, and cultural ties between the UAE and the UK while providing a competitive new option for budget-conscious passengers.
