Ryanair has officially announced the opening of its new two-aircraft base in Rabat, Morocco, starting in April 2026. This exciting development will bring 20 new routes, offering enhanced connectivity for both international travelers and local commuters.
The Rabat base will mark Ryanair's fifth in Morocco, underlining the airline's commitment to expanding its low-cost services across the Kingdom. This expansion comes just ahead of Morocco's role as a co-host for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which will further elevate the country’s international presence. The move is expected to generate over 800 local jobs, including 60 highly skilled roles for pilots and cabin crew.
The new Rabat base will feature seven new international routes, adding to a total of 20 routes available from the city by the summer of 2026. The routes include popular destinations such as Milan Bergamo, Baden-Baden, Frankfurt Hahn, Nuremberg, Porto, Pisa, and Valencia. Ryanair's investment in the new base amounts to a remarkable US$200 million, which will include the deployment of two new aircraft to serve these routes.
Ryanair’s CEO, Eddie Wilson, shared his excitement about the expansion, stating, “We are thrilled to launch our new base in Rabat, which represents a US$200 million investment and will contribute significantly to both tourism and local job creation. This new venture is part of our record Summer 2026 schedule, and it will strengthen Morocco’s tourism sector by offering more travel options.”
With this new base, Ryanair’s total investment in Morocco will exceed US$1.6 billion, supporting more than 8,500 direct and indirect jobs across the country. Wilson added that the airline is committed to positioning Rabat as a leading summer destination, highlighting the city’s rich history, vibrant culture, beautiful coastline, and welcoming atmosphere.
