Qatar Airways has confirmed that its regular flight schedule remains temporarily suspended as Qatari airspace continues to remain closed. The airline said full commercial operations will only resume once the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirms that the airspace has completely reopened and is safe for international air traffic.
Today (March 7), the airline is operating a limited number of repatriation flights after receiving temporary approval to use a designated safe operating corridor.
The special relief flights are departing from Hamad International Airport in Doha to several major European destinations, including:
-
London Heathrow (LHR)
-
Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG)
-
Madrid (MAD)
-
Rome Fiumicino (FCO)
-
Frankfurt (FRA)
According to Qatar Airways, seats on these flights were assigned in advance, with priority given to stranded passengers traveling with families, elderly travelers, and individuals facing urgent medical or compassionate situations. Eligible passengers have already been contacted directly by the airline with their flight details and travel instructions.
The airline stressed that these repatriation services should not be interpreted as a full resumption of regular commercial flights. Passengers have been advised not to travel to the airport unless they have received official confirmation from the airline that they are booked on one of the designated relief flights.
Qatar Airways said it is continuing to assess the possibility of operating additional relief flights where operationally feasible and will announce further updates once confirmed.
Passengers are also encouraged to ensure their contact information is updated through the Qatar Airways website or mobile application so the airline can provide timely updates and travel instructions.
The airline noted that the next operational update is expected on March 8 at 09:00 Doha time (06:00 UTC).
Meanwhile, passengers holding confirmed bookings between February 28 and March 15, 2026, remain eligible to change their travel dates free of charge within 14 days of the original departure date or request a refund for the unused value of their ticket.
