Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality has reported the removal of more than 72 million gallons of rainwater following recent rainfall, as coordinated response teams continue drainage operations across affected areas.
The effort is being led by the Joint Rain Emergency Committee, which brings together municipal authorities, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), and security agencies from the Ministry of Interior. According to officials, approximately 72,317,200 gallons of rainwater have been cleared to date.
To manage the accumulation, response teams carried out 12,191 tanker trips, deploying 544 tankers and 36 pumps. The operation involved 813 employees and workers from multiple agencies, reflecting a large-scale, coordinated field response.
The Ministry of Municipality also said it received 1,452 rainwater-related reports through its unified call center. Of these, 462 cases have already been resolved, while work is ongoing to address the remaining 990 reports in line with approved emergency response plans.
Authorities confirmed that drainage operations remain active across all affected municipalities, with continuous field monitoring underway to maintain road safety and protect public facilities. Officials added that teams will continue working until conditions fully stabilize.
