The Embassy of India in Kuwait has announced a mandatory shift to the newly launched Global Passport Seva Programme (GPSP) 2.0 portal for all passport-related applications and services. Effective immediately, Indian nationals residing in Kuwait must submit their passport applications exclusively through the new system.
According to the embassy, GPSP 2.0 replaces the earlier version of the platform to offer enhanced functionality, improved security, and streamlined processing. The upgraded interface allows applicants to fill out forms online, upload required documents, schedule appointments, and track their application status in real time.
The change applies to all categories of passport services, including new applications, renewals, reissues, and emergency travel documents. The embassy emphasized that applications submitted through the older system will no longer be accepted.
“The new GPSP 2.0 aims to provide a smoother digital experience and improve overall efficiency in passport services for Indians abroad,” the embassy stated in a circular.
Applicants are advised to visit the official GPSP 2.0 portal and thoroughly review the updated guidelines before starting their application. The embassy also urged the Indian community to ensure accurate data entry and upload clear supporting documents to avoid delays in processing.
This initiative is part of India’s broader mission to modernize consular services across all embassies and missions worldwide, aligning with the government’s “Digital India” initiative.
