Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced that several of its flights to and from Singapore will experience cancellations or schedule changes between January 29 and February 8 due to the temporary closure of airspace for the Singapore Airshow.
In a statement published on January 26 via its website and Facebook, the national carrier said it is directly notifying passengers whose travel plans are affected. Travellers are also encouraged to visit SIA’s flight status page for the latest details.
According to the airline, customers whose flights are cancelled will be accommodated on other available services or offered a full refund for the unused segments of their tickets. Passengers who booked through travel agents or partner airlines should reach out to those parties for any changes or support.
The adjustments include one Singapore–Medan flight on January 30 departing earlier than scheduled, and two Singapore–Bali services on February 1 undergoing time changes. Two Singapore–Kuala Lumpur flights on February 3 have been cancelled, while other services between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur on February 1 and 3, along with a Singapore–Penang flight on February 3, will depart at revised times.
In addition, two Singapore–Phuket flights on February 1 have been cancelled, while one to Phuket on February 3 will leave roughly two hours earlier. Two Singapore–Hong Kong flights on February 3 will also run under new timings. Meanwhile, a Busan–Singapore service on the same day will have a later departure.
SIA noted that its SQ915 flight from Manila to Singapore, operating on selected dates from January 29 to February 8, will be renumbered to SQ911 and move up its departure by about seven hours. A Singapore–New York flight on February 3 is also set to depart roughly two hours earlier.
The airline advised all travellers to update their contact information, warning that additional flights could be affected as operational changes continue during the restricted airspace period.
