Qatar Airways has been recognized with the prestigious ‘Best Airline App 2025’ award at this year’s World Aviation Festival, the largest global aviation technology event.
The award was decided through the ‘Battle of the Airlines Apps,’ where travelers worldwide nominated their favorite airline apps. The top five apps were then assessed by a jury of digital travel experts on user experience, mobile services, and digital innovation.
The Qatar Airways app offers a personalized travel experience across more than 170 global destinations. It is designed to make travel seamless and intuitive, allowing passengers to book trips, manage bookings, and receive real-time updates and alerts.
The app provides exclusive features including automated refunds for Privilege Club members, personalized notifications for birthdays and tier upgrades, and enhanced services for both frequent and first-time flyers.
A standout feature of the app is its integration of artificial intelligence with Sama, the world’s first AI Cabin Crew. Sama interacts naturally through voice and chat, enabling travelers to inquire about destinations, prices, flight options, and create tailored itineraries in real time.
Business Class passengers benefit from Sama’s assistance in viewing onboard menus and recommending chef’s specials and special dietary meals before their flights.
Christophe Guittard, Senior Vice President Business-to-Consumer at Qatar Airways, expressed pride in the award, highlighting the app as more than a travel companion but a “powerhouse of smart technology," delivering speed, personalization, and intuitive navigation. This recognition reinforces the airline’s commitment to digital excellence and innovation.
The accolade comes amid a year of notable digital innovations for Qatar Airways, including enhancements to its immersive QVerse platform and the introduction of Sama’s Arabic-language voice capability, reflecting the airline’s ambition to lead in digital travel technology in the region.
